Thats so sad. T.T
@Crestchan: yeah... .__. I hate break ups...
NO. DON'T DO IT. DON'T FREAKIN' DO IT.
@Joemon8: I'm so sorry *pats back*
I meant to write this last weekend after catching up on the archive but I got lured away! lol.
I've always enjoyed this comic right from the start, because it ticks all the boxes that a good comic needs: good art, an interesting and absorbing story, intelligent and realistic scripts. You've both shown all this from the very beginning and I've not seen a single page yet that failed to stir me in some way, mostly with humour but also in other emotions too as we are facing this break up.
I love the complication Sam poses to Lez's marriage as well as the fear of Claire's attachment to Sam. It's the kind of thought provoking situation I like to read about most and then wrestle with in my mind about the possible outcome just as Lez does. It also creates great tension and drama in what would otherwise be a jolly sitcom style comic that jogs along forever within soft and cosy parameters.
Lez's rather clinical attitude towards ending the affair and even how she states her principles with such sincerity (even though they didn't stop her cheating in the first place!) makes me laugh and want to hit her at the same time. If I had to ask anyone a question here, it would be, 'Lez, are you trying to tell Sam she was just an amusement and nothing else, and how do you expect her to react by telling her this!??' lol
I can't see into Lez's mind and neither can Sam so that's deliciously frustrating in itself but even though it looks like Sam is being dropped here I'm really hoping she doesn't disappear completely from the storyline. I see her as the bad penny that perhaps has a habit of turning up at the most inopportune times in Lez's life and taking the edge off her smile with her unwanted presence. I'm not hoping for a bunny boiler as this comics to cute for that but I feel Lez deserves to be haunted by her decision here a bit cos I'm vengeful like that! lol
@skyangel: Wow that's quite the review! I'm glad you like it so far.
As for Sam and Lez, well it is certainly a complicated situation. Originally, Sam was supposed to be a passing character, but she unexpected grew to be much more than that (and it certainly made me rethink how things were going to go).
As for Lez's attitude, I wanted to go for something a bit different than what people usually read. Lez is very detached and certainly has her flaws! She's in a complicated situation where is isn't allowed to let loose. Everyone deals with things differently...hers has been to ignore it exists at all. But this is only the first chapter. She still has some room to grow.
@piccolodian: I totally love the way you portray Les as it's very honest and realistic. I'd never turn on her just for dumping Sam as like you say, the situation is complicated and she's trying to make the best decisions, just as any of us would and it's comparing our selves to her that does make her so interesting.
Found this webic some time ago (thought had already commented o_O), glad found it again :D
Guess the reason Liz has never been in a 'relationship' longer than 5 months before is because she's not interested in a relationship, just quick meaningless sex... you sure she's not a guy?
@Guesticus: I'm also glad you found us back <3
and yeah.. I agree with you in some point but I mostly think she is more like.. afraid but... I don't really know, I'm just the artist, the writer is to tell but... as you say, maybe is true that she is actually a male D: that'd explain a lot!
